Misty Thicket

Draca – Important Note: You must have the Fighter/Caster guild quests in order for the bosses to spawn in Misty Thicket. Misty works by looking at all characters in the zone with either the Fighter’s Guild or Caster’s Guild quest, checking completed items for the quest or items in inventory, and spawning a boss that has an item at least one character needs. If no character has the quest, no bosses spawn.

So you have gotten your characters to level 70, hopefully trained your offensive and defensive skills by the skeletons in QRG, picked up some armor and weapons from Plane of Time and completed your characters’ Epic 2.0. At this point you should start working on your Fighter’s / Caster’s guild quests. Completing these quests is mandatory to further increase the ranks of your Epic weapon.

Once you complete these quests you will also receive other benefits, such as the ability to further improve your skills, as well as access to some unique items and quests.

Misty Thicket is a new zone that was created in 2023 to give new players an alternate and more engaging way of completing the Fighter’s Guild Quest & the Caster’s Guild Quest. Misty Thicket is a zone where you can complete both these quests without needing to hop between various other zones and instances. You can also mix the two quest progressions.

The quests start by hailing either Hyacinthe or Melwithe in Nexus. Hyacinthe will give you the Caster’s Guild Quest and Melwithe will give the Fighter’s Guild Quest. Characters that cast spells (excluding Paladins / Shadow Knights) usually take the Caster’s Guild Quest, to further improve their spell skills, unlock new spells (e.g. necromancer spells), and access the quest Summoner’s Pack for pet-using classes. Melee classes usually take the Fighter’s Guild Quest to improve their melee skills.

Once you have acquired the desired guild quest, you can either:

  • hail the Universal Teleporter and select “Misty Thicket” from the custom menu, or
  • target the teleporter and say “mistythicket”.

You can create instances of Misty Thicket, but not remotely — you must be physically in the zone to create an instance.

Once inside the zone, make sure to listen to what the NPCs in the zone say to you. By walking around in the zone and killing monsters, you will gradually begin fulfilling the quest objectives.

Some important clarifications / restrictions:

  • This zone is not intended to be a faster alternative to the traditional guild quests, but is meant to be more engaging. To avoid abuse or “power leveling,” there are soft caps at pulling 6, 11, and 17 NPCs at once, with exponentially increasing incoming damage at each threshold until survival becomes untenable.
  • This is strictly a level 70 zone.
  • Buffs are stripped on zoning in, so the only buffs you can have are those you cast while inside the zone.
  • You will find a few fun reward items (with charges) to give newer players some sense of mid/late game content on EZ.
  • Double and triple loot modifiers do not work in the zone, and zone-wide pulls (mass aggro) are disabled.
  • You should also be able to acquire some platinum while fighting in the zone.
  • There may also be extra bosses in the zone not strictly tied to the quests, possibly as lore or optional content.
